The Riesling Blauschiefer from Weingut Loersch is born in the heart of the Moselle, a region famous for its soils rich in blue slate, called Blauschiefer, which give the wine a unique and distinctive minerality. Notes of dried apple and honey on the nose, as well as a very fine botrytis. On the palate, the wine is very oily, insistently sweet, highly concentrated in acidity and distinct slate and mineral aromas. Superb ageing potential.

Graacher Himmelreich directly borders the southern edge of the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard. The wines from this site often rival the quality of those from its more famous neighbor, especially in hot, dry years. Graacher wines attract with their racy acidity, a pronounced minerality (that reminds of crushed rock) and slightly different fruit aromas and flavors (more citrus). Often, the wines become accessible slightly earlier than the Wehlener Sonnenuhr and are deliciously mouth-watering when young. The vineyard has a south-west exposure and it is a little less steep with deeper soils that act as excellent water reservoirs.

The 2021 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese offers a superbly spicy, herbal, and refreshing nose of rosemary, vineyard peach, almond cream, white flowers, mint, and cassis. The wine is superbly well-balanced on the palate, where delicious creamy and fruity flavors of almond, vineyard peach, and tangerine make for a pure and smooth feeling. The finish is very long, nicely structured, and well-delineated. This is a superb Spätlese which only now requires some patience for its elements to integrate. 2030-2050For centuries the Prüm family has called the village of Wehlen home. The Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett trocken "Mutter Anna" from the Hofgut Falkenstein estate displays a clear, pale yellow color with green reflections in the glass. The dry Kabinett with the AP1 label has wonderful aromas of apricot, wild strawberry, herbal spice, and cracked flint. On the palate, it is dry and crisp, with a wonderfully vibrant, mineral acidity and great length.

The grapes for the AP 11 Meyer Nepal come from an exceptionally high-altitude plot, which the former owner, a certain Mr. Meyer, already loved. He used to say: "From up here, you can see all the way to Nepal" – a saying that gave the wine its special name. The Meyer Nepal plot is higher up on the hill and more exposed to the wind, making it a cooler expression of the Herrenberg vineyard. It is bright and racy, with complex fruit – peach, green herbs and lime flavours – balanced by smooth fine stony notes and a long fine racy finish.

Falkenstein's AP 12 "Kugel Peter" grows on a high-altitude parcel of Krettnacher Euchariusberg, directly adjacent to the renowned Gisela vineyard. The grapes for the Falkenstein AP20 Riesling Kabinett come from the old, historic vineyard site in Niedermennig, which in the 19th century was still called Schock and was considered one of the finest vineyards in the Saar region. The Im Kleinschock Riesling is a fruity wine from the Falkenstein estate, displays a pale straw yellow color in the glass. The aroma is characterized by notes of apple peel, citrus fruits, and lemon balm. On the palate, it has a vibrant, lively acidity that harmonizes beautifully with the subtle residual sugar.

Falkenstein's Ockfener Bockstein AP 22 is the fifth vintage from their long-standing collaboration with the Kabinett masters from the Konzer Tälchen and comes from a special parcel in the central section of the Ockfener Bockstein. Over 50-year-old vines, once lovingly tended by their grandmother Mia (for whom this wine is eponymously named), give this wine its distinctive depth and strong character. Clear, yellow-fruited nose with dominant aromas of peach, apricot, and some pear, supported by subtle dark-fruited notes and fine herbal spice. The grapes for this Spätlese come from a parcel in the high-altitude heart of the Krettnacher Euchariusberg, below Arthur and to the left of Kugel Peter, not far from the world-famous Gisela parcel. From the glass, the wine smells wonderfully fresh and bright-fruited with yellow fruits such as lemon peel, honeydew melon, and a hint of pineapple, along with delicate herbal notes of chamomile and a salty-mineral undertone. The Falkenstein Pet Nat comes from Weissburgunder from the Niedermenniger Herrenberg and was fermented in cask before completing its fermentation in bottle and being released without disgorgement. It offers a beautifully aromatic and refined nose of light brioche, fine spices, greengage, white almond, flowers, and lime. The bubbles are already well integrated on the palate and the wine proves light yet intense, zesty, and even taut in the long and pure finish.
