Falkenstein's Ockfener Bockstein AP 22 is the fifth vintage from their long-standing collaboration with the Kabinett masters from the Konzer Tälchen and comes from a special parcel in the central section of the Ockfener Bockstein. Over 50-year-old vines, once lovingly tended by their grandmother Mia (for whom this wine is eponymously named), give this wine its distinctive depth and strong character. Clear, yellow-fruited nose with dominant aromas of peach, apricot, and some pear, supported by subtle dark-fruited notes and fine herbal spice. Light smoky notes and hints of forest floor lend depth to the bouquet, while subtle hoppy tones underline the almost earthy complexity. On the palate, the Kabinett is lively, juicy, and silky at the same time. Yellow-fruited freshness meets cool, stony minerality and a fine smoky slate tone. Full-bodied and precisely structured, the wine convinces with a long, salty-fresh finish.
