This is 100% Nerello Mascalese from the northern slope of Mount Etna, with vineyards at around 700m above sea level. The grapes are manually harvested, partially de-stemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts, seeing about 15 days maceration. It ages for around 12 months in large oak barrels before being moved to stainless steel tank where it is decanted naturally and bottled without any clarification or filtration process. This is a gorgeous Etna Rosso that has all the characteristic bright cherry fruit and intense minerality, structured and upright but open and ready to enjoy now. It has great acidity and a kiss of tannin that make it a great summer bbq wine that can be served slightly cool, but doesn't need to be chilled. An awesome value for a superb wine!$32.00
