Nicolò Grippald is a name that is only just being introduced to the world of great wines, as is his home province of Enna, in the very center of Sicily. Nicolò’s vineyards are 650-700 meters above sea level and enjoy excellent diurnal shifts in temperature. He farms dry and makes his wines biodynamically – everything in the vineyard and in the cellar is done in accordance with the lunar calendar. Equal parts Nerello Mascalese and Nero D’Avola, Il Vino Di Pico is a tribute to the Sicilian winemaking tradition, offering a rich and harmonious profile. This wine has aromas of dried fruit, with subtle hints of teak and earthy tones. In the mouth this wine offers a beautiful structure, with silky tannins and a juicy, long-lasting finish.
