The Laherte brothers, Thierry and Christian, are sixth generation winemakers in the Valle de la Marne of Champagne. Aurelien Laherte represents the seventh generation and has been taking the winery to a new dimension, while still following in the footsteps of his family. Taken from vineyards on the southern slopes of Épernay and the Côte des Blancs, the chardonnay for this cuvée includes 50% reserve wine and receives zero dosage. It’s perfectly balanced as a non-dosé, its 20 percent of malolactic undoubtedly helping to create a better harmony of acidity, and while there is a pleasing depth of citrus and apple fruitiness, along with hints of dried mango and preserved ginger, this wine is really all about soil and expression of place.
