Susanna Grassi’s family has been making wine on this land since the 1600's. The winery is quite literally surrounded by thousands of acres of protected national forest, and ever since Susanna took over in 2000, all of the vineyards have been converted to organic agriculture. 100% Sangiovese planted on sandy soils, this is a vibrant, flowery, and ethereal wine with aromas of violets, irises, red and black cherries, blood oranges, peaches and a touch of licorice. Light-bodied and crisp if not zesty, with integrated acidity, firm, chalky yet ripe tannins and a transparent, mineral-laden finish.
