This delightful wine boasts pronounced aromas of ripe mulberry and plum accented with a hint of earth and pencil lead – the tone is much deeper and richer than the same wine last year and the texture is more substantial. This wine should open in three to five years and should age well. The grapes are from a third of a hectare located against the wall of Grands Epenots just west of the Route des Grands Crus. The grapes are destemmed and gently fermented; four of the seven casks this year are new although there is plenty of substance to absorb the wood.
