Alberto Ballarin’s estate may be less than 50 years old, but the wines show an elevated level of complexity and character that belies their (relative) youth. With vineyards spread across three of Barolo’s communes, this wine takes advantage of each vineyard’s unique character to present a lovely snapshot of the region as a whole. Aromatically intense with notes of cherries, roses, and violets, this shows a refined palate that follows the nose with additional elements of spice and a long finish.
