Le Lucciole ist eine Einzellagen-Riserva aus einem 0,8 Hektar kleinen Weingarten und das Aushängeschild der gehyptesten Winzerin der Emilia-Romagna. Der dunkle Sangiovese überzeugt schon mit seinem intensiven Aroma nach roten Beeren, reifen Pflaumen und Feigen, untermalt mit Noten von Walnüssen und duftigem Waldboden. An den Gaumen schmiegt er sich mit feinkörnigem, festem Tannin ebenso kraftvoll, bleibt aber durch die gut eingebundene Säure immer trinkfrisch und wird sowohl in der stundenlang offenen als auch in der jahrelang verschlossenen Flasche über die Zeit nur besser. Le Lucciole ist ein winziger Weingarten mit den charakteristischen Spungone-Böden aus kalkreichem Korallen- und Muschelsandstein. Die Reben bringen hier wenige Trauben mit sehr kleinen, konzentrierten Beeren hervor. Diese werden händisch in kleinen 15-Kilogramm-Kisten gelesen und ihr Saft vergärt mit indigenen Hefen. The Sangiovese Romagna Predappio is darkly intense, with a youthfully brooding bouquet of crushed ashen stones and flowery underbrush complicating a mix of blackberries and rosemary. It's lifted and graceful in style, soft textured yet slender, with tart wild berry fruits and salty mineral tones guided by a core of brisk acidity. The wine leaves the palate drenched in primary concentration and a coating of fine tannins, austere yet still juicy, as a pleasantly bitter tinge fades slowly.

100% Sangiovese. Hand harvested in the second week of September to balance ripeness and acidity, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel while macerating on the skins for 28 days and aged for another 6 months. This results in a brilliant ruby red, medium bodied wine with aromas of herbs and fresh fruit, flavors of ripe cherry, raspberry, tobacco, and black pepper with dry silky tannins and balanced acidity. Pairs beautifully with Risotto Bolognese or Tortellini in Brodo.
