Located in the Moon Mountain District and planted on bright red soils, the vineyard has produced elegant, ageworthy wines since the mid-1880s. With Gallo’s significant investment and recent transition to organic farming (no small task at this scale), Monte Rosso is charging into the 21st century. These Zinfandel blocks lie on north- and west-facing slopes and were planted in the 1880s. The resulting wine shows citrus-tinted red fruits and a bright beam of acidity.
