2019, Roger Goulart, Cava Brut Gran Reserva, Catalonia, Spain                                                                            $21.99/$18.69

Despite more than 18 months of ageing, it's one of the youngest cava bottlings Goulart produces. An effort has been made to preserve the freshness and youth of the base wines with which it is made, using a touch of ageing that provides the yeast during time spent in the cellar. It shows a pale-yellow coloring with a fine perlage, a noticeably fruity bouquet and slight hints of yeast. Very fresh in the mouth with a light flavor profile that makes it pleasant and refreshing.

2023, Librandi, Ciro Bianco, Calabria, Italy                                                                                                                  $17.99/$15.29

This wine is made from 100% Greco Bianco, a white variety brought to Calabria by the ancient Greeks. Fresh, fruity and pleasant, it brings echoes of summer, grilled fish and holiday happiness. Aromas of peaches and citrus fruits complement undertones of herbs and flowers. On the palate, zesty freshness and a long finish showcase this wine's subtle hints of toasted almonds and macadamia nuts.

2023, Menade, Verdejo, Rueda, Spain                                                                                                                         $19.99/$16.99

Move over Sauvignon Blanc! Verdejo has long been a staff favorite for those occasions when a crisp and racy white wine is what we’re craving, and it’s time that you also got in on the fun. Focused and mineral-driven on the palate, this steely white wine is loaded with elements of tropical fruits like mango and passion fruit coupled with an electric character that’ll have you cheering for more. A hint of flinty smokiness lends a level of complexity not ordinarily found at this price.

2023, Domaine Carrel & Senger, Jongieux Blanc, Savoie, France                                                                            $14.99/$12.74

Lovely fruit notes of citrus and pear on the palate meet a bright, juicy acidity and an incredibly mineral finish- like drinking cool water from a stony stream. Crisp and fresh, this stunning wine is as wonderful in the winter with rich hearty meals as it is in the summer with light seafood and a sunny patio.

2023, Zenato, “San Benedetto” Lugana, Lombardy, Italy                                                                                         $23.99/$20.39

Rich in personality and with great depth, this wine delivers a wide spectrum of fresh and complex aromas on the nose.

It’s full-bodied and full-flavored in the mouth, with notes that shift from dried apple and pineapple to pear and vanilla.

Its long, brilliant finish lingers with delicious results.

2024, Figuiere, “Magali” Signature Rosé, Cotes de Provence, France                                                                   $22.99/$19.54

This beautiful rosé from Domaine Figuière will offer you a lot of pleasure and plenty of freshness for your sunny summer evenings! Its citrus notes (grapefruit, lemon), peach and strawberry as well as its lovely minerality will immediately transport you under the Provençal sun for a moment of pure relaxation.

2024, Joseph-Jibril, Carbonic Red, Sonoma, California                                                                                             $30.99/$26.34

This year’s Carbonic red from Joseph-Jibril is their take on a California Passe-Tout-Grains. This blend of pinot noir and napa gamay (Valdiguié) has a beautiful medium ruby color. The nose pops with whole cluster spice and bright red fruit. On the palate we get tart cherry, cranberry, raspberry, pomegranate and a hint of hibiscus. Smooth body with a crisp, clean finish. This wine blew us all away last year and we’re all totally over the moon to have it back.

2020, Becker Family Winery, Pinot Noir, Pfalz, Germany                                                                                         $25.99/$22.09

German Pinot Noir? Laugh not, my friend. Actually Germans have been growing Pinot Noir since it was brought there, probably by Cistercian monks from Burgundy in the 14th century. Friedrich Becker and his family own about 36 acres of vineyards in the southern part of the Pfalz region. He is one of the best producers in the Pfalz and one of the best Pinot Noir producers in Germany. This wine is a pleasant, clear ruby red with dark reflections. On the nose scents of wild berries, tobacco, spices and forest floor. On the palate this is juicy and elegant with good length and structure.

2022, Thymiopoulos Vineyards, “Young Vines” Xinomavro, Naoussa, Greece                                                    $19.99/$16.99

Normally known for making powerful, tannic wines that needed extended time in a barrel to tame them, this Xinomavro from Apostolos Thymiopoulos breaks the mold. The nose has complex aromas of cherry, black raspberry compote and red plum. The palate is surprisingly full and mirrors the nose, showing dried cherries, blackberry and red fruit, with a long, juicy, spicy finish, with firm but finely grained tannins. Super friendly with just enough complexity to keep you coming back for another sip.

2021, Sindicat la Figuera, Garnatxa Negra, Montsant, Spain                                                                                  $23.99/$20.39

Bright cherry-red with hints of violet, the wine offers an expressive nose of red cherries, wild strawberries, and raspberries, accompanied by Mediterranean herbs, floral lavender, and subtle spice. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied with refreshing acidity, revealing flavors of ripe red fruit, pomegranate, and a touch of dried herbs. The silky tannins create a smooth structure, while the minerality adds depth. The finish is clean, with lingering red fruit and a hint of anise.

2023, Castello di Neive, Langhe Nebbiolo, Piedmont, Italy                                                                                     $31.99/$27.19

The Castello di Neive Langhe Nebbiolo has a garnet red color typical of Nebbiolo, tending towards orange with ageing. The nose is inviting and complex, with a bouquet that expresses notes of ripe red fruit, such as cherries and raspberries, alongside floral nuances of rose and violet, enriched by touches of spices, leather, and a light hint of tar and anise, typical of this vine.

2022, Delille Cellars, “Metier” Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley, Washington                                          $34.99/$29.74

Delille’s “Metier” series of wines is a welcome addition to the lineup of superb wines that they produce.  A terrific value that would probably run you three times the price if it was from Napa, Delille’s Metier Cabernet Sauvignon has textbook leafy herbs, tobacco, and darker currant fruits in a medium-bodied, elegant, balanced package.
