This wine blend has historically been unique to Alsatian winemaking (until now) and only includes the noble varietals. The blend is traditionally balanced, clean and crisp, it pops on the nose with melon, pluot, blood orange and wet rock aromas. Dancing across the palate with a crisp acidity and taut minerality, it offers tart red fruit and zesty citrus. 2024, Chateau Barthes, Bandol Rose, Provence, France $27.99/$23.79 There are very few wine categories that have such an undisputed champion, as dry rose has in Bandol. Luckily, this Bandol rose is a relative bargain without skimping on the magic. Instantly pleasing with fragrant red berry, acacia blossom with a flinty edge on the nose. A zesty attack leads to a juicy, ripe mid-palate of strawberry and raspberry, balanced with elegant acidity and lime zest, plus a pinch of herbs, followed by a cleansing finish. 2023, Scenic Valley Farms, Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Oregon $24.99/$21.24 One of the oldest wineries and farms in the area, starting in the early 1970s. They hand pick everything from their carefully tended vineyards, farming organically(not certified). They have a light touch in the cellar as they let their impeccable vineyards speak for themselves. Very little new oak aging and that shows as the fruit shines with smooth, chewy red fruit and a relaxed finish. A bargain for small production, all estate fruit Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley. 2024, Colori Wines, Red Blend, Central Coast, California $23.99/$20.39 In 2018, after years of working alongside notable winemakers of the Central Coast, Harry Hall was inspired to pursue his own label - Colori. This "Super Tuscan" style blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Teroldego, and the white grape Malvasia sources fruit from several regions around California’s central coast. Tastes like wild berry, pepper licorice and plum. 2023, Kumusha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Western Cape, South Africa $19.99/$16.99 Kumusha in the Zimbabwean Shona language translates to 'your home', 'your roots', or 'your origin'. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Western Cape.
