NV, Emmanuel Haget, “Preambule” Pet Nat, Saumur, France                                                                               $28.99/$24.64

An equal partnership of Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc farmed biodynamically on the mineral-rich tuffeau soils of Saumur Puy-Notre Dame. Gentle bubbles, lovely gentle red fruit notes, a citrus edge and herbal lift. Fresh and mineral with a lovely honey like roundness on the finish from the addition of Chenin Blanc on this release.

2023, Mary Taylor/Pascal Biotteau, Anjou Blanc, Loire, France                                                                             $17.99/$15.29

Sourced from vineyards that fall exactly along the border of the two sub-regions of Anjou, this gorgeously subtle white from fourth-generation winemaker Pascal Biotteau comes from the village of Saint-Jean-de-Mauvrets, situated on the old Roman road from Angers to Poitiers.

2023, Il Buongiorno, Fiano Salento Bianco, Puglia, Italy                                                                                          $21.99/$18.69

A triumph of sensations and aromatics like orange and lime blossoms, but plenty of freshness too. This brings to mind the sea breeze that often lightly touches the coasts of Puglia, during the summer nights. This wine is for sure a superb example of the big potential of white wine production in this Region.

2021, Domaine Reveille, “Carpe” Cotes Catalanes blanc, Roussillon, France                                                      $28.99/$24.64

Reveille means "Rise" in French, a reference to the growing natural wine movement in the Roussillon. Headed by France Crispeels, and she cultivates very old Carignan and also Grenache, Syrah, Muscat.  The extreme conditions from strong winds, high temperatures and a lack of water result in more stress on the vines, action that has created an ideology-stressed vines create better wine. This blend of Muscat and Grenache Gris is medium bodied, with wet wildflowers, fresh herbs and subtle waxy texture. A really gastronomic wine!

2024, Domaine La Cabotte, “La Colline” Cotes du Rhone Blanc, Rhone, France                                                 $21.99/$18.69

This blend of Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Viognier and Roussanne really overdelivers for the price. The nose shows subtle hints of stone fruit while still remaining extremely fresh and explosive.  Fresh cut hay and citrus lead into a wine with excellent acidity and good mineral notes.  Long and clean, this vibrant wine will keep you coming back.  Very high-toned for a wine from this area.

2023, de la Boue, Chardonnay, Willamette Valley, Oregon                                                                                    $42.99/$36.54

Travis and the team at de la Boue like their Chardonnay to be lean and crisp and typically pick on the early side as the vineyards they work with retain heat and allow the grapes to fully ripen at lower brix levels. Because of this, the wine shows classic Chardonnay notes that are bolstered by bright acidity and a unique salinity.  This is a lean Chardonnay that draws inspiration from Chablis.

2023, Cosimo Maria Masini, “Mathilde” Toscana Rosato, Tuscany, Italy                                                             $18.99/$16.14

A bit more substantial than a Provencal rose, this is made from Sangiovese and an old indigenous Tuscan variety called San Forte. San Forte has a lot of the same properties as Sangiovese, with added violet aromatics and a bit of savoriness.

This wine is fresh and red cherried with an earthy minerality cutting through it.

2022, Mary Taylor/Marine Descombes, Beaujolais-Villages, Beaujolais, France                                                $21.99/$18.69

A textbook blue stone Brouilly style Beaujolais-Villages from one of the great women winemakers in France. Beautiful purity of gamay noir fruit – meets cement ageing – showcasing the unique expression of Beaujolais that cannot be reproduced anywhere – but here!

2023, Les Brebis, Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Oregon                                                                                         $26.99/$22.94

Sustainably grown and organic grapes went into this crowd-pleasing Willamette Pinot, which offers juicy flavors of strawberry and black cherry that lead into savory notes of truffles and game. Unlike other wines in this price range, it is fermented with native yeast, aged in French oak barrels, and bottled unfiltered. This approach creates a lovely flavorful wine that perfectly complements grilled salmon.

2022, Cosimo Maria Masini, “Sincero” Toscana Rosso, Tuscany, Italy                                                                 $19.99/$16.99

Cosimo Maria Masini is in San Miniato, Tuscany. High in the hills, the area is most famous for white truffles. The farm is on a single hill, with 40 hectares of biodynamically grown vineyards, olive trees and arable land. Sincero is a red wine with great drinkability but not lacking in complexity. On the nose you'll find a delicate aroma of violets and roses, with a lively, bright and fresh pop of juicy cherry and plum. This truly lives up to its nickname of being a “Happy Tuscan Wine”.

2021, Domaine Reveille, “Pointe Rouge” Cotes Catalanes Rouge, Roussillon, France                                      $31.99/$27.19

We’ve been huge fans of France Crispeels and the wines she produces since our very first taste. Pure terroir expression, varietal character, vibrancy, these wines check all of the boxes and then some. Pointe Rouge is a blend of Grenache and Carignan that is equal parts power & indulgence contrasted with elegance and balance. Red fruits, savory spice, and a subtle but persistent mineral streak on the finish gives this wine some serious presence.

2022, Domaine La Cabotte, “La Colline” Cotes du Rhone, Rouge, Rhone, France                                              $19.99/$16.99

La Cabotte Côtes du Rhône Rouge Colline is an elegant red wine from the organic and biodynamic vineyards of Domaine la Cabotte in the southern Rhône. The estate, certified in both organic and biodynamic farming, is situated in the Massif d’Uchaux, where the altitude and sun exposure help to preserve the grapes' natural acidity, giving the wine a fresh and balanced character. Blackberries and raspberries are in abundance, with some pepper. In the mouth it is rich and unctuous. Bright fruit with good acidity balance out this dark red wine.
