Wines and Beers of the Week
Five wines. Four countries. Three gluten-free beers.
Wines of the Week - July 24, 2026
Foral De Melgaco Alvarinho - 750ml
From super old, organically-farmed vines on Portugal's northern border, this is every bit as good as a top-flight Spanish Albarino. This is the quintessential spring and summer white wine that offers up soaring aromas and flavors of ripe citrus, apple, peach, peach skin, honeysuckle, and mineral. It really offers that rare combination of concentration and richness, freshness, and complexity.
$20.00
Maison Louis Latour / Macon-Lugny Les Genievres - 750ml, 2024
The Latour Mâcon-Lugny Les Genièvres reveals a brilliant pale gold color. The floral, expressive nose opens with aromas of acacia and honeysuckle, enhanced by delicate notes of vanilla. Round and generous on the palate, revealing aromas of yellow fruit. Elegant finish with good length. Classically styled and extremely delicious.
$26.00
Tiberio Cerasuolo D'Abruzzo - 750ml, 2025
The Tiberio Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is wonderfully perfumed with rose petals, wild strawberries and blueberries plus complementary nuances of wet concrete after a spring rain. Seamless, soft textures host vibrant wild berry fruits and a core of zesty acidity. With immaculate form and grace, the 2025 leaves a mineral crunch and a tart citrus inflection. The Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo hails from a single parcel of south-facing vines planted in 2000. What a beauty.
$33.00
Marabino Rosso di Contrada - 750ml, 2020
Crafted from 100% Nero d'Avola, this biodynamic red hails from the Val di Noto region in southeastern Sicily. Sourced from a combination of vineyards that feature limestone in some places with clay predominant in others, this intriguing red shows off the breadth of what Nero d'Avola can do. The nose is subtle and savory, with notes of cured meat, soil, balsamic vinegar and black licorice. The palate is bursting with red fruits and spice with fine tannins and a surprisingly approachable character for such a complex wine.
$25.00
Bodegas Valdemar / Rioja Crianza - 750ml, 2019
