Drew Voit made his bones in Oregon as the winemaker AND vineyard manager for Shea Winery before starting his own label. A conversation with Drew will inevitably turn to the topic which he holds dearest - shepherding the characteristics of a particular vineyard into a bottle. The thinking is that each vineyard has so many characteristics unique to itself, all interacting synergistically, that it is only through a relentless pursuit of the clearest expression of that site, that a wine really speaks. Hard to follow? Maybe, but the wines are exquisite.
