The 2016 blend is 68% Pinot Noir and 32% Chardonnay. Vinification entirely in wood, without malolactic fermentation, preserves the natural freshness of the vintage and brings out the controlled strength of the terroir. After eight years of ageing in the historic cellars of Mareuil-sur-Ay, the wine reveals a deep golden colour and a delicate bouquet combining elderflower, white fruits and a pastry note. With aeration, the wine gains complexity, with hints of salted caramel, vanilla and ginger. On the palate, the attack is full and creamy. The aromas develop towards ripe yellow fruits, evolving into a more pronounced pear character. The saline and spicy finish is characterised by high precision and remarkable persistence.
