A blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre, this wine is matured in a mix of large barrels, one foudre and a concrete egg, this Vacqueyras is a more serious, structured expression of the appellation. It opens with aromas of wildflowers, cracked pepper, green herbs and dark berry fruit. Medium- to full-bodied, it’s taut and youthfully reserved, with a dense core of fruit girdled by a firm, assertive tannic frame. The finish is long and unfurls slowly with air.
