From 5-7P Nick Mucci, from Mucci Imports is going to wow us with five amazing Italian wines. Be prepared to "have your minds blown" per John, TSG's WD. The five wines he'll be sharing with us are below.

Dell'Erba Vermentino / Soffio di Ponente - 750ml, 2025

Soffio di Ponente, or Vermentino, recalls the wind that blows across their land, lightly carrying aromas and flavors. This delicate, fresh wine conveys these scents and its freedom. Straw yellow in color with light greenish reflections, it has a lively and fruity aroma with fresh notes of citrus and aromatic herbs, with mineral nuances; it presents itself on the palate with a dry and fresh flavor with savory and soft tones.

Colle Jano Titillo / Verdicchio dei Castello di Jesi - 750ml, 2024

The name says it all: Titillo was created to tantalize and provoke the senses. A 100% artisanal Verdicchio, the product of an organic and biodynamic approach on calcareous marl soils. Hand-harvested and fermented with indigenous yeasts, it ages for 10 months in stainless steel with intense batonnage to combine vibrant freshness with a velvety, complex structure. Verdicchio is one of those grapes that often flies under the radar but we absolutely adore it and it'd be hard to find a better paring with fresh grilled seafood.

Gurrieri Frappato - 750ml, 2025

Frappato’s vibrant acidity and delicate structure make it highly versatile at the table, working particularly well with dishes that have bright, herbal, or umami-driven components. This is an aromatic variety, unusual for a red grape. The wine is brilliant mid-red in color, with clear floral and berry/pomegranate fruit notes and some spice and tea-leaf on the nose and the palate. This is light on its feet with pleasing flavors and smooth but drying tannins. If you enjoy a lighter style of red wine this will please you. It’s delicious at room temperature, but we prefer it slightly chilled.

La Sabbiona Sangiovese / Rosso della Torre - 750ml, 2023

Sangiovese from Romagna is a completely different style than its neighbors to the south in Tuscany. These wines don’t have the complexity nor acidity that you expect from a Chianti Classico, for example. Nor really the tannin for that matter. What they do offer however is more simplicity, roundness and that typical fruit of the varietal. Sangiovese di Romagna is more of your everyday wine and that is definitely what Mauro is out to achieve with this wine.

Pietregiovani Primitivo - 750ml, 2020

Pietrogiovani is Fabio's last name, while Pietregiovani translates to "young stone", a young winemaker on very stony soil. Fabio targeted a small cru site in the Gioa del Colle, Puglia's most prized terroir with some elevation and very stony soil. This Primitivo is very true to Puglia, strong, dark, and spicy, but has balance rarely seen with these wines thanks to the Gioa del Colle. The wine spends time in stainless steel, with about 5% of the juice ageing in oak.

Beers of the Week

For this weeks beer tasting, with Ryan, at the barrel, he's selected some pretty unique ones.

New England has a plethora of breweries, and also some unique local flora that more adventurous breweries aren’t afraid to use when brewing their beers. Tonight we’ll be focusing on three of these special concoctions from Massachusetts breweries that highlight those special ingredients.
